- Indicator explain
- Investigation and announcement jointly conducted by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and Data compilation agency Markit, the Service Industry Purchasing Managers Index is an economic Metric that evaluates and measures the monthly transmutation in the economic activities of purchasing managers in the UK service industry. The service industry PMI covers transportation and communications, financial intermediation, business services, personal services, Test info and hotels and restaurants. Data reflects the comparison of the current month's situation with the previous month's situation (improvement, deterioration, Invariant) by purchasing managers in the service industry, where the improvement weight is 1, the Invariant Weight is 0.5, and the deterioration Weight is 0. Therefore, if 100% of respondents believe that the situation has improved, the Data will be 100; if all respondents believe that the situation has remained Invariant, the Data will be 50; and so on. When the index is above 50 hour, it is considered that the industry is expanding and will be good for the pound; conversely, when the index is below 50, it will be bad for the pound.
